I’m not asking if you think it would be nice, or if it’s something you’ve thought about doing years from now.
I’m not asking if you daydream about working in your pajamas or watching your bank account climb over night…almost by magic.
Everyone wants those things, it’s fun to imagine winning the lottery or inheriting enough money to quit working and just coast through life.
This isn’t about everyone, though; it’s about you and the sacrifices you are no longer willing to make for a paycheck.
Maybe you have a special needs child, or are caring for ill or aging parents. Maybe you’re a single parent, like I am, and constantly having to make impossible choices like, “Do I buy groceries this week or pay the power bill before it’s shut off?”. With eight kids to feed and clothe, those decisions were my reality for a long time. Believe it or not, I had to make payment arrangements on a 30-cent gas bill. No joke! I had shorted my gas payment by 30 cents because I didn’t have the whole amount, and came home one day to a shut off notice on my door. I called the company to pay the 30 cents, but they wanted to charge me an extra $10 for a phone payment (which I couldn’t afford) so I made payment arrangements to have it added to my next bill. It’s my most ridiculous “payment arrangements” story, but not my only one by a long shot. The old saying about “robbing Peter to pay Paul” was pretty much how my budget operated in those days.
When I lost my job because one of my kids got sick and I couldn’t go to work one day, I knew it wouldn’t be the last time I would need to put my family before my job and that I was quickly becoming unemployable because of it. When you’re serious about needing to create a better source of income for yourself and your family, you don’t waste time with wishing and dreaming; you start looking for solutions.
I was serious, so I started looking for a solution. I had some marketable skills and business experience. I decided to use them to earn money for my business instead of someone else’s, but I was terrified I’d screw up and lose everything. I didn’t know if I was doing the right thing. I had made some pretty awful decisions in the past, what if this was another one? I’m quiet by nature, and the idea of selling scared me. Even though I wanted things to change in my life, I was a little afraid of that too.
My best friend, Suzanne was serious about a solution too. She’s an amazing, caring person…the kind you call when you need something no one else would do. She lives in Dallas but has a son in college in California and family members in Kansas and Canada that need her help often. She needed to create a solution that gave her the freedom to be able to pick up and go at a moment’s notice.
Since we were both on the same journey, and neither of us had a roadmap to follow, we started sharing ideas and encouraging each other. We kept notes of what we did that moved us closer to our goal and what didn’t. We called the things that worked our “Keys”. We were failing our way forward and learning more about what works each time. It was almost as if we were circling success, we saw more wins and fewer losses with each pass.
After some time, we were doing well. We both had a full-time, home-based income. I was home with my kids, she was where-ever she wanted to be, and we thought we were done. Until we decided to see what would happen if we took all the key elements of what we were doing and built a system around them so we could free up more of our time and make our results more predictable. Basically, we wanted to turn our business into a math equation.
We sharpened our pencils, gathered our data and went to work calculating. Neither of us could have predicted what would happen next.
The short story is, we built a crystal ball.
Technically, we applied Six-Sigma principles to create a predictive algorithm, but “crystal ball” sounds more fun.
With our crystal ball, we know what will happen before we do something. We know how many people will respond to an ad before we run it. We know how many people will click on our landing page (and how many of those will make a purchase). We know exactly how many new customers will come into our business each month and how they’ll get there.
We know how much money we’ll make next week, and if we need to increase that, our crystal ball tells us exactly what we need to do to make it happen.
It’s pretty freaking amazing.
We were playing with our crystal ball one day and we decided it would be fun to have it show us, based on our current sales, when we would make a million dollars.
When it spit out an actual date and what we’d need to do each and every week leading up to that date, we were stunned…then excited.
We were excited because we realized that we had something that could be applied to any business, for anyone. It wasn’t something that only worked for us.
I thought about my married daughter with her two little kids and her dead-end job selling shoes. I could teach her how to use this to stay home with her babies.
I thought about my sister who has a dozen talents she could earn money from if she knew how.
We thought of all the other moms we had met who needed to earn money from home. They were as serious as we were and their reasons were just as compelling. We could help them do it now! We could help a hundred moms… a thousand…a million, it wouldn’t matter how many because the algorithm works the same for everyone, everywhere. It’s based on math, and math doesn’t change. The entire system is tested and proven, every Fortune 500 business uses it in some form, we just adapted it for home businesses. It’s very simple to learn and do, in fact, we have it set up so intuitively that it doesn’t feel like a system at all. It doesn’t require any special skills or talent, a person doesn’t have to be a mathlete to use it.
We wanted a name for the multitude of work-at-home moms we wanted to help. Since we’ve seen the system work to make a million dollars, we named our process The Two Comma Mama …catchy, right?
We’re teaching our entire system to moms who need a work-from-home income. Not ones who want one or who like to talk about it or wish for it because no system can work for people who only want to talk about and wish for something.
What if you don’t have a product or service to sell?
Because the system works for every type of product or service, if you don’t have something specific right now, we will work with you to help you find just the right thing to align with your passions and values. It’s important that you love what you do. We’ve found through our long journey to this point that your ideal business is something that reveals itself gradually as you move toward it. It’s very common to start out doing one thing and have it evolve into something very different, but more perfect than you could have ever imagined at the start. That’s exactly what happened to us, and it’s an amazing experience.
